BOTOX ® COSMETIC/ DYSPORT FAQs
Neurotoxins such as Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve fine lines and wrinkles in adults.
What areas can be treated? Forehead, crows feet/smile lines, and glabella/frown lines. See services for more details!
When will I see results? – 2 weeks.. How long does it last? up to 3-4 months, slowly wearing off after 1 month.
Do I need to keep up with it? – Botox targets the underlying cause of your lines/wrinkles from frowning and squinting over the years reducing muscle activity for visible smooth lines. It is recommended for preventative measures to get Botox treatments at least twice a year. Some people just get Botox injections on occasion for special events/ photoshoots/etc. (Remember Botox/ Dysport takes up to 2 weeks to show effects) Touch ups can be done if needed after 2 weeks.
I would not recommend getting Botox or filler for the first time ever right before your big day or special event. Start a year out so we can get your perfect look by the time you have your big day!
Botox/Dysport After care: no laying down, touching injection sites, make up, exercising, or laying out/tanning for 4 hours after injections. Sunscreen should be worn on a daily basis to protect your investment.
Facials and other cosmetic procedures can be done after 2 weeks.
What age is appropriate to start Botox? Newest studies say mid 20s is an appropriate age to start Botox to prevent wrinkles from causing permanent creases from aging and expression over the years. It is easier to prevent than to try to correct!
How do appointments go? Appointments usually take about 30-60 minutes. The first appointment a medical/physical history form will be completed prior to treatment looking for any contraindications.
You should not get Botox/Dysport if you have a serious infection and being treated with an antibiotic.
If history of cold sores or herpes you should be treated with an anti-viral by your primary care doctor before and after being injected as injections could cause flare ups.
Botox CANNOT be administered while pregnant.

What is it? Filler is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that contains a small quantity of local anesthetic (lidocaine) and is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water, and to act as a cushioning agent. The role of lidocaine is to reduce the pain associated with injections into the skin.
What does it do? Filler temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. The lidocaine in the gel improves the comfort of the injection.
What will it accomplish? Injectable Filler will help to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Also Plumps lips. Most patients need 1 to 2 treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing.
Your provider will help guide you during a consultation on which Filler product will be best for the results you are looking for.
Natural, pouty, plump, kylie lips are all achievable but may take multiple appointments.
Do not book you filler appointment 1 month out from a special event. Give yourself plenty of time to get perfect look!
How long does it last? up to 9 months! When will I see results? Instantly
Does it hurt? The lips are very sensitive, but topical numbing cream will be applied and a couple small pokes will be felt. Also, all the fillers have lidocaine in them. It is tolerable.
What are possible side effects? Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injection site responses such as: redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection. One of the risks with using this product is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious, and may be permanent.
Filler can be reversed/dissolved with a drug called hyaluronidase which is kept in the office at all times.
Down time- 48 hours- 1 week of bruising, swelling, tenderness
Are there any reasons why I should not receive FILLER (contraindications)? Your injector will ask about your medical history to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment. The product should not be used in patients who have: Severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or history or presence of multiple severe allergies or have a history of allergies to lidocaine or Gram-positive bacterial proteins. If history of cold sores or herpes you should be treated with an anti-viral by your primary care doctor before and after being injected as injections could cause flare ups. Unfortunately you cannot get filler injections while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Kybella (deoxycholic acid) is an FDA approved cosmetic injection indicated for improvement in the appearance of submental fullness associated with submental fat in adults.
How many treatments will I need? A series of 1-6 treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results and these will occur at no sooner than the one month interval. Your doctor/nurse will decide the appropriate number of treatment sessions and the amount of Kybella you will need at each session.
When will I see results? The results of Kybella are not immediate. At your first treatment visit you will receive a series of injections in the submental area. At the time of injection and for several days following the injections you will have swelling in the submental area. Kybella will cause the fat cells to diminish gradually over the course of the next month following your injection in the treated area. RESULTS ARE PERMANENT! NO SURGERY!
Side effects of Kybella may include: bruising, swelling, numbness, induration, marginal mandibular nerve injury, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), bleeding, tenderness or discomfort, tissue necrosis, hyperpigmentation, redness, or alopecia at the site of injection.
You should not be pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of a bleeding disorder or infection of the area to be treated. The morning of your treatment you should take ibuprofen if you are able to tolerate this medication. Also, you should tell you provider if you take any blood thinners or aspirin or have a history of any issue with lidocaine or epinephrine.
